Corrie Barker, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM)
Dr. Barker received her veterinary degree from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Her post-graduate education continued at the College of Veterinary Medicine with an internship and residency in internal medicine.
She received her board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2003. Dr. Barker worked at a small animal specialty practice for 4 years before joining Dr. Jacobs and opening Woodlands Veterinary Referral.
Dr. Barker has a special interest in cardiology.
Kirstin Mix, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM)
We are very excited to announce that Dr. Kirstin Mix will be joing Woodland in June of 2019. Dr. Mix received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Emory University and attended UGA CVM for veterinary school. She completed a one year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery. After completing her intership, she entered into small animal general practice before deciding to pursue a residency in small animal medicine at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists.
Dr. Mix became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2006. She has worked in North Carolina, Atlanta, and Columbus, GA.
Dr. Mix has a special interest in endocrinology and gastroenterology.
Gilbert Jacobs, DVM, DACVIM Cardiology
Dr. Gilbert Jacobs officially retired in December of 2018 from Woodlands Veterinary Referral. He is enjoying spending some time with his children, reading, exercising and working in his yard. He will be dearly missed by his clients, their pets, our referring veterinarians and our staff.
