Melanoma Vaccine

Melanoma vaccination is a treatment for patients that have been diagnosed with a malignant melanoma of the oral cavity or area surrounding the toe nail.  The vaccination stimulates the body's immune system to actively destroy melanoma cancer cells.  This treatment is used after surgery or radiation and surgery have been performed to control the local disease that is present.  The vaccine is administered by injection once every two weeks for four total treatments and then boostered every 6 months.
