In some patients, a bone marrow sample may be needed to evaluate for causes of bone marrow disease.  A bone marrow analysis may be needed when a CBC shows problems with the cells made by the bone marrow (red cells, white cells, or platelets).  It can also be used to help confirm bone marrow cancer when this is suspected. 

This procedure requires sedation to help minimize any discomfort that your pet could experience.
